About St. Louis Development Corporation
St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) is the independent economic development agency serving the City of St. Louis, Missouri. It is an action-oriented organization that exists to empower, develop and transform St. Louis through a vibrant, just and growing economy where all people can thrive.
The Challenge
St. Louis developed their Economic Justice Action Plan to support their efforts to provide “equitable and inclusive economic development for everyone in St. Louis — regardless of geography, socioeconomic status or race. The Economic Justice Action Plan will guide the unprecedented investment in marginalized communities in St. Louis — particularly North City.” The goal of this project was to implement a solution that would allow them to track the Pillars, Strategies, Objectives, and Activiations identified to enable the implementation of the Action Plan as well as related organizational initiatives and development projects. They began tracking the plan in a spreadsheet, but the complexity of the plan and its many components soon outgrew the spreadsheet format.
The Solution
In SLDC’s Sales Cloud, Summit implemented a combination of standard and custom objects to allow staff to record actions, projects, products, and services that support the implementation of the Action Plan.
Several reports and dashboards were built to present information in the Action Plan and its related efforts
Summit implemented a Developer Portal on Experience Cloud to allow developers in the region to submit applications for project incentives
Summit developed portal pages and related flows to allow developers to submit Annual Reports to SLDC
Summit configured Salesforce Maps to allow SLDC staff to visualize the locations of projects within the St. Louis geography

Results for Our Client
The implementation of Sales Cloud resulted in greater transparency of Action Plan efforts within the organization and improved cross-organizational visibility into projects, products, services, and other initiatives supporting the Action Plan. It also eliminated manual data entry for developer applications and annual reporting, while significantly improving the efficiency of incentive compliance functions.
